So with all this snow on the ground, I couldn't help but think about what a great time of year it would be to have destination weddings. Here is a wedding that we were so thrilled to work on in Hilton Head, SC not that long ago. This couple Kevin & Jill are literally the nicest couple I know and on top of it a modern day Barbie and Ken. They own The Little Speed Shop in Rochester NY a family owned specialty car repair shop, hence the subtle introduction of race flag designs and car table markers. They brought all of their favorite Rochester, NY vendors with them to celebrate and make sure all the details of the day were just so. Jason Ripple of Rock Paper Scissor Salon made the trec to make sure every lock of hair was just right. Weather didn't cooperate so much on this wonderful day but we still found a way to make it happen and it was absolutely stunning. With this group of family and friends you could put them anywhere and they will still make the best of it.
The reception was filled with purple and lime green orchids. Above the family style head table we hung manzanita branches with dripping orchids to serve as hanging centerpieces. During the wedding ceremony each guest found a rock and a marker. The rocks being from their favorite places in Rochester NY and the marker to write a special note to the bride.......then the entire guest party made there way to the beach where, in true wishing stone fashion, all the stones were tossed into the ocean.....just briefly missing the photographer :-) just-kidding.
Then we all danced the night away...yes we had the honor of being invited to stay and play with this wonderful family. The next day photographer Tammy Swales and the entire bridal party made there way to the beach for a kick butt amazing day after bridal party shoot. From swimming in the ocean, rolling in the sand, to jumping in a pool this crew covered it all. It really has been a pleasure to work with them over the years as we were able to create Jillian's sisters wedding and several cousins and friends. They are always such a treat to work with and so wonderful to be around.....thank you Jill and Kevin for letting us take a walk down memory lane and allowing us to be a part of your day.
We appreciate you.
