The Skaneateles Garden Club is a cherished local organization with a beautiful mission: to promote the art of gardening, aid in the conservation of natural flora, encourage the artistic use of flowers and plant materials, and further the beautification of Skaneateles. Great floral design isn't just about pretty flowers. It's intentional. We shared the fundamentals of color theory and how to think about composition when building a large-scale arrangement, from creating visual balance to guiding the eye through the design.

We shared our go-to care tips so members could keep their arrangements looking fresh and vibrant at home for as long as possible.
Putting It All Together
Then came the best part, actually building the arrangement. Members watched as a large-scale design came to life, with all the principles we discussed woven into every stem placement.
Why We Love Events Like This
Teaching floral design is one of our favorite things to do. There's something so rewarding about demystifying the process and showing people that beautiful, intentional arrangements are absolutely within reach. The Skaneateles Garden Club members were engaged, enthusiastic, and so much fun to present to.
