Stacy K Floral & Miguel Ovalle | FWR

At Fashion Week Rochester, Stacy K Floral brought botanical artistry to the runway through a collaboration with multidisciplinary artist Miguel Ovalle, known as Dizmology. Pairing hand-painted apparel with sculpted fresh blooms, the collection explored the intersection of contemporary fashion, fine art, and the ephemeral beauty of flowers.

The Concept: Stacy K

For Stacy K, the runway offered a new canvas for floral expression. Drawing on the studio’s innovative spatial design and luxury floral styling, the concept moved flowers beyond the vase and into the world of wearable art.

Hand-painted floral imagery formed the foundation of the garments, while sculpted fresh blooms added dimension, vibrant texture, and fluid movement. Painted and living flowers became part of the same composition, bringing together two interpretations of botanical beauty.

The collection celebrated the fleeting nature of fresh flowers while imagining new ways to experience them. Each look carried Stacy K Floral’s expressive approach to color and design into motion, transforming clothing into a living extension of the studio’s artistry.

The Artist: Miguel Ovalle

Miguel Ovalle, known as Dizmology, was the artist behind the collection’s hand-painted floral fashions. His artwork gave the garments their own visual identity while creating a foundation for Stacy K’s fresh botanical designs.

A Miami-born multidisciplinary artist and sculptor now based in Rochester, NY, Miguel works across muralism, geometric sculpture, and immersive spatial installations. His practice explores the intersection of raw urban environments, organic structures, and geometric precision.

His projects have been exhibited internationally and featured in major public art installations, including New York City’s 3 World Trade Center. He continues to expand his visual language through fine art, public installations, and collaborative community projects.

For Fashion Week Rochester, Miguel brought that creative range to the runway. His painted florals and Stacy K’s sculpted blooms worked in conversation, merging their distinct artistic perspectives into one bold collection.

The Finishing Touch: Lee Grey

The collection’s colorful spirit carried through to the hair, with every look created by Lee Grey of Surface Salon. The artist behind Stacy K’s signature hair colors for more than 15 years, Lee brought a longtime creative connection and her own imaginative approach to the show.

For several models, Lee incorporated playful, colorful additions that complemented the painted garments and fresh florals. Her styling added another layer of texture and personality, completing the runway looks in true Stacy K style.

Lee’s creativity extends beyond the salon. Around Rochester, she can also be found spinning vinyl under her DJ name, DJ Lovvlee. Her artistry was a meaningful part of the collaboration, bringing the collection’s expressive vision through to its final details.
