Someone had made the suggestion that we blog about all the ways that we recycle at the store. We smiled and couldn't believe that we hadn't thought about it before. So this is going to be the first of many posts that showcase merchandise and ways that we "upcycle" products ourselves.
"Upcycling" is taking something that you would otherwise throw out and finding a way to make it into something else.
For instance, we carry these really affordable clutches in the store that are all made of recycled materials. Food labels, magazines, newspapers, etc. are coated to make them waterproof and then woven together to create these amazing looking hand bags! But the company that makes them went a step further for the earth.... for every bag they sell they plant a tree!! So it's double the eco friendliness!!
